Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

TITLE: Associate Vice President for Student Affairs

POSITION SUMMARY

Provides vision, strategic planning and oversight for Student Affairs in the areas of Student Success Center and Nash Grad, Director of Student Life, and the Access Center for Students with Disabilities. Provides dynamic and effective leadership for alignment of departments and activities overseen to enhance student learning and success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership and oversight to advance the offices Student Success and Nash Grad, Student Life, and the Access Center
Develops, implements, and assesses student success and retention initiatives.
Coordinates with community partners in providing wholistic student support services
Chairs the college CARE team.
Oversees the college Early Alert System and coordinates communication to faculty and students.
Serves as Student Affairs liaison with Academic Affairs Divisions.
Oversees student conduct and discipline processes including appeal hearings for all campuses.
Develops and monitors departmental budgets.
Represents college to TBR, partner agencies and institutions, and at community events.
Provides leadership for the student academic advising process including faculty training and information at all campuses.
Writes and manages grants.
Creation and oversight of departmental budgets.
Measures and assesses the effectiveness of Student Affairs departments, initiatives, and grants
Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree from an accredited college.
Five years of progressive experience in higher education student affairs
Three years successful supervisory and budget experience
Experience with strategic planning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Doctoral or terminal degree from an accredited institution
Experience with Ellucian Banner student management system.
Experience with student conduct policy and processes
Experience working in a multi-campus community college
Experience with grants management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships.
Knowledge student development theory
Ability to develop and utilize enrollment data reports

RATE OF PAY: $88,659 - $110,824 annual salary depending on experience
