    Department Summary

    The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development provides support to the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, Department Chairs, and faculty on faculty matters. Our office provides leadership and oversight of academic policy and procedures in a manner that supports the overall academic goals, mission, and strategic plan of the university.

    Job Summary

    Analytical Processing
    • Under general supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for the PeopleSoft processing of R03, R11, and E99 payments.
    • The incumbent will perform administrative and analytical duties, including but not be limited to: processing of hires, rehires, time base changes, resignations, promotions, range elevations, special consultants, department chair appointments, and market increases.
    • The incumbent will collaborate with college analysts, human resources, and payroll to ensure the accuracy of appointment forms and PeopleSoft processing of various transactions.
    • The incumbent will analyze and address general problems that pertain to University systemwide policies and Faculty Administrative Manual (FAM) and provide interpretation, guidance, and policy references as applicable.
    • The incumbent will consistently coordinate and collaborate with college analysts and colleagues at all levels within the University, serve as subject matter expert for faculty affairs-related inquires, complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

    Recruitment
    • The incumbent will serve as a resource and contact for faculty recruitment for Faculty Affairs and Development.

    RPT
    • The incumbent will serve as a department resource to the faculty, administration, and staff regarding RPT and advise them concerning policies and procedures.

    Other Duties
    • The incumbent will provide effective communication and excellent customer service and perform other related duties as assigned.

    Employment Status
    • Full-time, exempt, probationary with the possibility of converting to permanent.

    Work Schedule

    Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, weekends and evenings may be required.

    Key Qualifications
    • Thorough knowledge of and ability to apply extensive expertise to complex programs and/or administrative specialties, including pertinent laws and regulations.
    • Demonstrated expertise in and advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public and business administration and operational and fiscal management.
    • Expertise in administrative survey techniques, operations and systems analysis, statistical and research methods, and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
    • Ability to understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and discern applicable underlying principles to conceive of and develop strategic solutions.
    • Ability to work with representatives from public and private entities and handle potentially sensitive situations. Demonstrated consultative skills in working with internal and external constituent groups.
    • Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus.

    Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs, PLUS four years of related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience providing progressively responsible administrative, technical and analytical support in an environment of similar complexity.
    • Experience in higher education.
    • The ideal candidate needs also to be self-motivated; possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; and be able to effectively coordinate and confer with groups and individuals at various levels.

    Salary:

    Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,750 - $5,200 per month

    Classification Salary Range: $4,693 - $8,489 per month
