Training Program Specialist

About the Department:
Dairy Records Management Systems (DRMS) is a trusted dairy information and decision tools provider, serving producers and consultants across the U.S. for over 65 years. As a non-profit connected to North Carolina State University and Iowa State University, DRMS delivers research-backed software, standardized data, and practical tools that help dairy professionals make informed, faster herd decisions. From the proven Dart platform to mobile tools like PocketDairy and cloud-based analytics with HerdHQ, DRMS bridges science and daily dairy life. Through deep collaboration with DHIA service affiliates, partners, and universities - and backed by exceptional, responsive customer support - DRMS empowers informed decision-making for every herd, every day.

Essential Job Duties:
As the Training Program Specialist, you will build and expand Dairy Records Management Systems' (DRMS, www.drms.org) customer education program, helping producers, Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHIA) service affiliates, and consultants adopt and effectively use DRMS tools. You will develop standardized onboarding, scalable learning resources, and a Train-the-Trainer certification model to create consistent, repeatable training that can reach customers across the organization's network. In this role, you will lead key training initiatives, deliver hands-on instruction, and equip internal teams and affiliates with the tools, content, and frameworks they need to provide high-quality education and support continued customer success.

Primary responsibilities:

Training Strategy & System Development

  • Design and implement DRMS's training strategy across producers, DHIA service affiliates, and consultants.
  • Build a scalable training system, including onboarding frameworks, certification programs, and learning infrastructure (e.g., LMS).
  • Develop a structured Train-the-Trainer certification model with defined learning paths and competency standards.

Curriculum Development & Content Creation

  • Lead development of structured training materials, including video, written guides, modules, and assessments.
  • Translate complex software functionality into clear, role-based instruction aligned with how users learn and apply DRMS tools in real-world settings.
  • Partner with Support, Marketing, and subject matter experts to incorporate field knowledge and product expertise into training content while aligning with DRMS messaging and communications.

Program Delivery & Field Engagement

  • Lead execution of training initiatives, including onboarding programs, product rollouts, and key education efforts tied to DRMS tools.
  • Deliver training across formats (in-person, virtual meetings, and digital) to support user adoption and effective system use.
  • Plan and participate in training events and sessions, including scheduling, logistics, materials, and participant experience.

Program Evaluation, Metrics & Reporting

  • Track training participation, engagement, and certification progress using key performance indicators (KPIs) for product adoption and user competency.
  • Analyze training effectiveness using performance data, such as adoption rates, certification completion, and support patterns.
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership on program performance and opportunities for improvement.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape how Dairy Records Management Systems educates and supports its customers by creating resources, delivering training, and equipping others to provide consistent, high-quality education across the DRMS network. If you enjoy developing engaging learning experiences, building scalable training programs, and helping people use technology effectively, we welcome you to apply.

The work location for this position will be either Raleigh, NC, or Ames, IA.

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Education, Animal Science, Agricultural Technology, Communications, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

  • Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, practical, user-focused instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset and openness to feedback, adapting effectively based on input from others

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background training large, distributed user groups across multiple roles or regions.
