General Statement

Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate the Bobcats Give Back Program encompassing:
Bimonthly service programs around the Gallatin Valley incorporating a variety of organizations.
Alternative breaks program that provides long form service opportunities for MSU students across the state.
Service projects for specific campus groups, student organizations, and yearly traditions.
Cultivate and grow relationships with a variety of local and regional community partners to facilitate service opportunities for students.
Work with Academic Partners to pilot and grow Service-Learning opportunities into the classroom and beyond.
Work with students on code of conduct violations and meet with them individually to identify community service opportunities and follow-up after completion of service to reflect on their experience.
Contribute to program design, strategic planning, implementation, assessment, reporting and outreach of OSE programs, services, and learning outcomes. Examples include MSU Debut, Catapalooza, and annual scholarship and student recognition programs.
Work autonomously as well as part of a team to develop and implement programs and initiatives.
Present to a variety of audiences to advance community service and student involvement on campus and in the community.
Manage a small staff of student workers to contribute to service learning and involvement programming.
Assist in managing the Involvement Ambassador program at OSE, a high impact mentorship program, connecting students to get more involved on campus.
Serve on a variety of campus committees that incorporate community engagement and service and actively participate in the success of this shared programming.
Regularly explore new service-learning opportunities with both existing and new community partners.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
2. Progressively responsible program coordination experience in a busy office setting.
3. Demonstrated competence organizing and prioritizing multiple workloads, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while balancing the needs of students, faculty, and staff stakeholders.
4. Demonstrated experience with event and program planning.
5. Demonstrated experience managing volunteers and/or student employees.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. Demonstrated experience working with and having collaborative relationships with community-based and/or non-profit organizations.
2. Experience working with students in an academic department or student success division at a higher education institution.
3. Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling or similar degree.
The Successful Candidate Will
Ability to research best practices and different models for program success, synthesize the information and then develop and propose new programs and/or program adjustments.
Ability to work with a diverse community of individuals and groups both on campus and in the larger community setting.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and practice good judgment.
Ability to creatively problem-solve with short timelines to address challenges.
Demonstrated competence organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines and ability to work in an organized fashion with heavy workloads in a busy office setting.
Demonstrated competence with computers/software including Microsoft Office Suite.
Competence with the appropriate use of generative AI tools in a professional context.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively both in person and in writing.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Ability to think strategically and creatively.
Strong problem solving and brainstorming skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with a variety of constituents.
Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
Must possess currently or be eligible to obtain a valid State of Montana Driver's license and have an acceptable driving record (less than 12 points).
