Applications are being accepted for the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs within the College of Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University. The Associate Dean is the overall administrative leader and champion for areas of assessment, accreditation, and curricular innovation in the College. The successful candidate for the role will be a forward thinking and dynamic leader who possesses a distinguished record of scholarly accomplishment, and of leveraging partnerships for the benefit of learning and discovery. The right candidate for the role is also an excellent communicator with a record of fair, inclusive and transparent decision making. The Associate Dean for Academic Affairs works closely with the Dean and other team members to ensure outstanding service from the Dean's office to all College faculty, staff, and students.

The candidate selected for this key position is charged with leading the faculty and staff of the College in academic program development, approvals and evaluation; accreditation matters; curricula modernization; faculty development; as well as the assessment and evaluation of students, faculty, and programs for relevancy, competitiveness and success. They lead in shaping and implementing the College's academic policies and practices and in fostering effective collaboration with other units of the College and the University. The Associate Dean helps fosters a vibrant intellectual climate that encourages inquiry, learning, and discovery.

North Carolina A &T State University is a learner-centered community that develops and preserves intellectual capital through interdisciplinary learning, discovery, engagement, and operational excellence. The doctoral research intensive and public land-grant University enrolls almost 12,700 students. The College of Engineering, with over 2,100 students has EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as CAC ABET-accredited program in Computer Science. Required qualifications: Qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in engineering or computer science discipline; significant experience in research and teaching; experience in leading and inspiring others, program development, and collaborative work.

The right leader is an effective communicator able to work effectively with faculty, administrators, students and external constituencies; and has a commitment to diversity, collegiality, and shared governance.

A demonstrated ability and experience in administration or management is highly desirable. Proven experience in progressive accomplishments in academic leadership, and organizational change/transformation, particularly in higher education, is highly preferred.
