LOCATION: NDSCS – Wahpeton, North Dakota
TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: 12-month, full-time, benefitted, live-in position

JOB SUMMARY: The Resident Director (RD) is a pivotal member of the residential life team, responsible for creating a supportive, welcoming, and engaging living-learning environment for students. The RD oversees the daily operations of multiple residential halls, fostering a sense of community and enhancing the student experience through effective leadership, programming, and support services. This is a year-round, live-in position that supervises 12-15 Resident Assistants/Apartment Managers.
Benefits
SALARY: $37,500 - $40,000, commensurate with education and experience
BENEFITS: NDSCS offers a comprehensive benefits package with an estimated value of over $30,000. The package includes single or family health insurance coverage with premiums paid for by the College - with an effective date for new employees the first of the month following the date of hire. Optional benefits include life, dental, and vision insurance, a flexible spending account, and supplemental retirement plan.
Minimum Requirements
Must support the mission, vision, and values of NDSCS
Associate's degree or two years' related experience
Ability to lead, mentor, and supervise student staff, model professionalism and ethical behavior
Skilled in building inclusive communities and facilitating educational programming
Ready to take on responsibilities including managing emergencies, resolving conflicts, and applying conduct and behavioral protocols
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication skills
Organized and detail oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or graduate coursework in student affairs, education, psychology or related field
Experience in residential life, counseling, or teaching
Student leadership and development experience
Conflict resolution and mediation experience
